Restorative DentistryFor anybody that has less than perfect teeth and ongoing dental health issues, it can seem like a lost cause to try to find a solution that will give you the smile that you have always wanted. However, restorative dentistry cannot only offer your smile a second chance, but can also give you the relief that you deserve.

There are a number of diseases that can greatly impact your oral health and the overall appearance of your teeth. Restorative dentistry works to diagnose and treat the underlying medical concern so that teeth can be healthy and strong. There are a number of procedures that fall into the restorative dentistry category such as: pulpotomy, crowns, fillings, or removal of teeth.

Pulpotomy is the treatment of the nerve. This happens when there is a large amount of decay that has set in on a tooth and has created a tremendous amount of pain for the patient. A drill is used to remove the decay and even the nerve if needed.

Crowns are placed in order to help stop the progression of a deep-rooted cavity. Rather than removing the existing tooth, a crown is fitted on the tooth in order to protect it completely.

Of course, fillings are a routine procedure for many people. Fillings are used to stop the progression of even the smallest cavity. This helps protect the tooth and stop further decay.

Removal of teeth may be necessary if there is too much damage and an infection that could spread to other teeth. Of course, there are future options such as implants to help create a more appealing look.

All of these procedures can help restore your smile and ultimately protect your mouth against advanced illnesses. In the end, it is important to maintain good oral health and this goes a long way in preserving your smile.
