A family practice, in the plain sense
Harris Legacy Dentistry is two generations of Harris dentists under one roof. Dr. Jeffrey Harris has practiced dentistry for almost five decades, including three years overseas as a dentist in the United States Army. Dr. Paul Harris, a University of Maryland trained general dentist with more than two decades of his own, calls it his dream practice. Between them they bring over 65 years of combined experience to their neighbors in Warrenton.
The office has been at 420 Hospital Dr for about 40 years. Most of the staff have been here 15 years or more, so the person who greets you, the hygienist who cleans your teeth and the dentist who checks your bite are usually the same people, visit after visit. We think a trip to the dentist should feel like visiting family, and that is easier when the family does not change.
What has changed is the dentistry. Digital scans have replaced impression trays for most treatments (3D and mostly impression-free), nitrous oxide is available for anyone who finds the dentist hard, and the practice treats sleep apnea and TMD alongside everyday checkups, fillings, crowns and cosmetic work.

1970s
Dr. Jeffrey Harris begins practicing
After a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Virginia and his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Jeffrey Harris spends three years overseas as a dentist in the United States Army, then settles into private practice.
1980s
The office opens at 420 Hospital Dr
A single-story office on the same street as Fauquier Hospital, with a lawn out back. The practice has been here ever since.
Around 2000
Dr. Paul Harris earns his DDS
University of Maryland at Baltimore, College of Dental Surgery, followed by general dentistry built around the patient in the chair.
Today
Two generations, one team
Most of the staff have been here 15 years or more. The dentistry is 3D and mostly impression-free, nitrous oxide is available for nervous patients, and the practice treats sleep apnea and TMD alongside everyday family care.
