Using your dental insurance at Harris Legacy Dentistry

Most PPO dental plans are accepted at our Warrenton office, and our team verifies your benefits before your visit so you know what to expect before you sit down in the chair. Bring your insurance card to your first appointment, or send us your plan details ahead of time and we will check them for you.

Check your coverage before you come in

The quickest way to find out how your plan works with us is to send your insurance details with your appointment request. Use the “Insurance” field on the form and we will verify your benefits and call or email you back.

How dental benefits usually work

Every plan is different, but a few terms come up on almost every one:

  • Preventive care. Checkups, cleanings and routine x-rays are often covered at a high percentage, which is one reason regular visits save money over time.
  • Deductible and annual maximum. Most plans ask you to pay a deductible before they share the cost of fillings, crowns and other treatment, and most cap what they pay in a plan year.
  • In-network and out-of-network. PPO plans usually let you see the dentist you choose; the share you pay can differ depending on whether the office is in the plan’s network. We will tell you where our office stands with your plan when we verify your benefits.
  • Pre-treatment estimates. For larger treatment plans, an estimate can be sent to your insurer first so the covered amount is known before you decide; ask us about it when we go over your plan.

No insurance?

Many of our patients pay without insurance. See our payment options for the ways we make treatment manageable, and ask the front desk for a written estimate before any treatment begins.
